What do school staff need to know about culture and linguistics?
Below are some cultural profiles created to assist school staff in learning about English Language Learners in our schools and their families. This is likely to also be available in print form for distribution at the ISD (?), but publishing here on the wiki allows 1) us to easily add/delete/modify information as needed and 2) you to quickly make copies of what you need for distribution to your gen ed staff. There are already suggestions for additional profiles that weren't identified in the initial group. We can start the profiles (a blank template is also included) and add to them as other groups become more relevant to your school. It should be stressed that this is a work in progress and starting point for all of us. All profiles will be presented in MS Word form for direct editing.* Hope this becomes a good resource for everyone! --Trudy
